COMING
SOON

F4U Corsair Wing

I set out to design this AFTERMARKET PART in an effort to solve a number of problems. First, if you are anything like me, I cannot stand to have a finished model with visable flaws. The first product that Loose Cannon hobbies will put on the market will be an aftermarket wing assembly for the Tamiya 1:48 scale F4U-1, -1A, and -1D Corsair. This aftermarket wing will simplify an overly complex wing assembly that involves 3 wing parts as opposed to 7. The 3 wing parts will consist of a solid bottom wing with a solid (2) top wing pieces and then the modeler will complete the wing assembly by adding the parts provided in the Tamiya kit. This simplified, straightforward assembly will allow beginning modelers to complete this kit and will allow alleviate the headache that comes along with the out of box Tamiya Corsair wing assembly. This aftermarket wing assembly by Christmas of 2025.

Meet Our CEO & Designer

David Leick

Hello, I am the CEO of Loose Cannon Hobbies and I am pleased to introduce the launch of this company.  We are an independent, veteran-owned company that sees the value in scale modeling in many different ways.  This is an incredible hobby that is inexpensive and takes very little space to build and create any given project.  The hobby allows the modeler, at any age, to start a project, see it through to the end, and actually produce something from the individual's skill level and imagination - something that a video game will never do.  The value of this hobby has been proven time and again in that it enhances very important skills such as working with your hands, following instructions, focusing on a project for a length of time, independent thinking/creativity, and working with several different mediums such as paint, glue and others.  As a retired teacher, I was given the excellent opportunity to observe the importance of giving our young people the opportunity to create and work on their own, something that seems to be lost in this current age - there is simply too much dictation and not enough independent work coupled with problem solving.  This company will contribute in many ways to carrying on the modeling tradition and will be enhanced by a historical/literary element that will add to the experience through reading and discovery.

Thank you for your interest,

David R. Leick
